Eurojam
In July, 2010, Bradog together with Finglas Youth Resource Centre hosted a music exchange called Eurojam. We invited young people from Hungary, England and Sweden to a week long event which took place in Gormanstown Boarding School in Co Meath and the axis arts centre in Ballymun. The aim of the week was to bring young Europeans together to make music and to better understand what we have in common rather than our differences.
The whole group met every morning to make sure everyone was getting on okay and to plan for the day. We then split into three groups. The first group was "Create" with Colm Quearney which was a space for participants to bring ideas together and create a song or an instrumental piece. Second group was "Eurojam" where the group could jam out ideas or practice the pieces they put together in
Create. The third group did Stop Motion Animatio with Mick Mc Cullagh and also Djing with DJ Moschops. At the end of the week we had a showcase in axis theater in Ballymun.
The theater was packed and the groups played their songs and music to tremendous applause. We plan to keep music going in Bradog with Saturday afternoon “Open mic” session were young people can play their music and invite their friends to come and watch. Watch this space for more information.
